My teacher training at Triyoga in “Yoga for Teens”, under the tuition of Susannah Hoffman, has given the privilege to offer teenager yoga classes with confidence. My classes aim to:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Calm the mind

  • Improve posture

  • Enhance mental clarity, focus and concentration

  • Develop strength, flexibility, posture and co-ordination

  • Achieve better sleeping patterns and mood

  • Increase confidence and self-esteem

The pressures on teenagers to perform well at school has had a profound affect on their happiness and self esteem, so my aim is to set the foundations to help promote a better school life for them. My classes will help to improve focus, stimulate the mind and take away the stresses in the body. 

Since teaching teenagers it’s clear that the benefits of yoga are endless. Not only are they creating a safe place to relax, but they are improving their physical fitness and enhancing their concentration. My teen yoga classes are designed to help with the demands and pressures at school, the challenges of a changing body and to support physical sports.

My wish would be for every teen to be offered the chance to take yoga in school as part of the PE curriculum. The Department of Education states that pupils should be taught physical development, which displays increased endurance, flexibility, coordination and muscle strength as well as cultivating self-awareness and self respect.  Ofsted requires every school to actively promote and evaluate student’s spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.
